There’s a new Twitter hashtag with checking out: #boyfiction.

It began when Ginia Bellafante, a TV critic at the New York Times, blasted a new HBO series by saying:

“Game of Thrones” is boy fiction patronizingly turned out to reach the population’s other half.

All kinds of people are upset about this online. Salon has an especially good summary and response.

In the meantime, Danielle Stockley has created a hashtag to envision what other works of “boy fiction” Bellafante must have been thinking of when she made her ill-received remarks. Some highlights:
