For those of us who will be tempted to buy Imperial Bedrooms by Bret Easton Ellis when it comes out this summer, now is a good time to (re-)read Less Than Zero. The one is a sequel to the other. I grabbed Less Than Zero the other day, and between all the emotional catatonia, the references to Gatsby and Elvis Costello, the werewolves (yes), and the nods to BEE’s other books, its 200 pages flew by. Except for the gang rapes and the forced prostution. Yeah, those parts are still stomach-turning.
